"Jigging and in the case of the guy in the pic, he likes to go bottom long lining but not with very long lines so to speak as he does it recreationally and so is restricted with the number of hooks."

Thanks for posting that most interesting information on the recreational fishery there in Malta. As I am sure you have seen, momentum for restricting the harvest in the Med is picking up, as Tuesday the EU Parliament voted in favor of the ban. Do you tag the tuna you release? I would be interested in helping you with a tagging program if interested. The more data we have that shows these fish swim across the Atlantic will help all fishery managers going forward.

When the season starts please so share your methods and successes here on the site. As you can see many of the top charter boats are involved in the program and we would love to see how you fish for bluefin there off Malta.

Great to have you on this site. I look forward to many more communications and shared stories once the season starts up.
